End of semester.

Well, it’s nearing that time – when final assignments are being completed, and studying for upcoming exams begin. It’s been a challenging last semester and I’m looking forward to finishing up here and getting back into the workforce. I’ve learned a lot in enterprise application programming, and mobile application development over the last semester, and I intend on building on that knowledge over the next few years.

Over the last few days I was excited to be able to do some design work on a promotional poster for the mobile app I’ve been working on. It turned out pretty well too!

This poster will be used for our booth in the upcoming Applied Research Day next week. I’m looking forward to being able to show students, faculty and potential employers what we’ve been able to develop over the last few months. Should be a fun time!

Update!

I suppose I should start off with a very belated ‘Happy New Year!’ I’ve been pretty busy lately with classes and some big projects coming up. Now that I have some time to breathe for the time being with study break coming up next week, I figured I’d stop by and actually write something here.

So, I’ve got a few months left until I graduate from the Computer Programmer program at Algonquin. Over the course of this semester, myself and a few other classmates will be putting together a mobile app for the college, so over the past few weeks I’ve been spending some time researching what will be required and how we’ll be going about developing it. We’ve found a pretty nifty package that uses the IOs SDK and knowledge of Javascript, CSS (and other languages) called Titanium Developer which seems to be a wonderful product for those without experience in Objective-C. I’m looking forward to when we get to actually start development, it’s shaping up to be a good experience. I may even invest in a developer’s license for Apple’s App Store for myself when this is done…

I’m also in the process of working on a couple other websites on the side which I hope to add to the portfolio section soon. Also, the layout for this blog has been completed, it’s been interesting messing around with the WordPress API. As for the main site, most of the functionality is now in place, just need to get some content in there…

Stay tuned!

Testing…

This is a test post for the purpose of testing the custom template and CSS. Nothing to see here.
